Moves Made…

Travis Ishikawa #45 of the Milwaukee Brewers hits a bases clearing double scoring Ryan Braun, Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Gomez in the bottom of the third inning against the San Diego Padres during the game at Miller Park on October 3, 2012 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Well, the news from the Orioles this afternoon was not all that surprising.

From the Orioles…

Orioles recall RHP Jair Jurrjens from Triple-A Norfolk; INF Travis Ishikawa designated for assignment

The Orioles today announced that they have recalled RHP JAIR JURRJENS from Triple-A Norfolk. To make room for Jurrjens on the roster, INF TRAVIS ISHIKAWA has been designated for assignment.

Jurrjens, 27, did not receive a decision in his only start for the Orioles on May 18 vs. Tampa Bay (5.0IP, 6H, 4ER, BB, 5K). He is 5-5 with a 4.06 ERA (84.1IP, 38ER) in 14 starts for the Tides this season.

Ishikawa, 29, had two hits in 17 at-bats (.118) in six games for the Orioles.

Travis Ishikawa was not playing anyway and seemed to just be an extra player on the roster; meanwhile, Jair Jurrjens was called up for pitching help. I would expect yet another roster move to be made after the game or sometime on Sunday.
