O’s Win On Adam Jones’ Walkoff in the 9th…

The Orioles got yet another walk-off win on the season as they defeated the Kansas City Royals, 5-3, to kick off their three-game series.

With the score tied at three in the bottom of the ninth, Adam Jones hit a two-run homer to centerfield off Royals closer Joakim Soria.

Felix Pie’s RBI-double to start off the ninth inning, helped the Orioles tie the game at three. Alfredo Simon — in his first game back in the majors after a winter of legal troubles — pitched a scoreless ninth for the victory. The Royals’ Soria took the loss.

Zach Britton – who started the game on the mound for Baltimore — wasn’t sharp, but kept his team in the game. He went six innings and gave up three runs against a seemingly tough Kansas City lineup. Britton earned a no-decision, and hasn’t won in weeks, despite giving a workman’s effort during each and every start. The bullpen pitched well for Baltimore and kept them in the game.

The Orioles scored twice in the sixth inning as both Luke Scott and Matt Wieters drove in runs.

Kansas City starting pitcher, Danny Duffy lasted 5 1/3 innings and gave up two runs in the no-decision.

I’ll have more later on Wednesday. A good win by the Orioles and they are now 22-24 on the season.
