Playoff Reflections, ALCS & Steve Phillips, What the Hell Were You Thinking…

The New York Yankees will try to decided the American League pennant as the League Championship series returns to New York City. As we all know, the Yankees had a chance to take Game Five of the series after an impressive six-run seventh inning to take a 6-4 lead, which later was washed away by a terrible A.J. Burnett and the implosion of the New York bullpen which allowed three runs to come in the bottom of the inning.

We’ll see what goes on tonight; however, it is supposed to be real nasty out — though not nearly as chilly as the first round of the playoffs in the Bronx. The backs of the Angels are still against the wall, and I still think New York takes the series thanks to their offense.

Los Angeles has not been pretty in the ALCS, and the Yankees have neutralized them in the series; however, they are a very good team, and they did win 97 games. I still think we see an I-95 series between the Yankees and Phillies.

And yes, seeing John Lackey being taken off the mound and mouthing, “C’mon Scosh, this one is mine. Are you (shitting) me? This one is mine. (from the LA Times)”, was beyond priceless to see on TV. Lackey has done nothing to hurt his free agent status in the offseason, and one can surmise soon enough that he’ll be a very, very, rich man.

Steve Phillips, what the hell were you thinking? Forget the way the girl looks — that’s besides the point. Why in the world would you cheat on your wife with a production assistant? Did you happen to pay attention to what happened to another Steve — Steve McNair?

I mean you just ruin your marriage, your life, career, good name — which you had soiled in the past, but rebuilt — and dignity? And let’s not forget the girl — Brooke Hundley — lord, is she a piece of work.
