Twelve Losses in a Row & Trembley

Written for Oriole Magic…

The Baltimore Orioles have lost 12 row. Forget the game, we all probably know what happened by now, and it is what it is.

The blog has been a supporter of Dave Trembley though the good, the bad and ugly; however, the past two weeks — give or take a day or two — has been nothing short of seeing the last portion of the Titanic sink into the icy cold waters of the ocean.

Does he stay around for 2010? I would have thought if the Orioles had come close to winning 70 games, sure; however, being that the team is trying avoid the psychological impact of 100 losses, could MacPhail just show Trembley the door?

We all pretty much gathered that the Orioles would finish last, but could we have envisioned that they would finish this badly? Trembley is a good guy, and performs his job with pride, but no one could have made the 2009 Orioles into contenders.

No one.

Then again, with pro sports being a ‘what-have-you-done-for-me-lately’ kind of deal combined with 12 losing seasons and maybe even 13 or 14 in Birdland, and empty seats at one of most beautiful venues in the sport — Camden Yards, the question is do we see a new manager in ’10?

After this season, do we all as fans even care anymore?
